Legislative Updates
First Four Bills
I introduced my first four bills of the legislative session and am proud that each received bipartisan support. Below is a quick summary of each bill (or listen to the video above!). I look forward to keeping you updated on their status.
HB 245, the "Georgia Educational Opportunity Act", would provide additional state funds to local schools to support students living in poverty;
HB 305, the "Protect the Dream Act", would restrict the number of single-family homes a hedge fund or corporation could purchase in a county;
HB 310, the "Student Teacher Promotion Act", would compensate college students who have completed all of their coursework and are teaching full-time in schools; and
HR 191, would create a house committee to study how we can better leverage local fees to address housing affordability
